Sheridan College and a consortium of industry partners announced last Friday at xoTO Filmmakers Lounge in Toronto, the full commercialization of SirtNet, a first-of-its-kind in Canada, fibre optic based collaboration network for the Ontario screen industries. The event was attended by over 100 industry representatives, and featured remarks from municipal, provincial and federal government officials, as well as industry partners and Sheridan representatives.

Craig Henighan, a 1995 graduate of Sheridan’s Media Arts program, has won an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series for his work on Stranger Things. Henighan received his award during the presentation of the Creative Arts Emmys on Sept. 10.

Four Sheridan alumni have been nominated for Emmys in casting and sound editing, including Stephanie Gorin, who earned her fifth nomination for casting the television series Fargo. She is joined by three other alumni who earned nods for sound editing. The Emmys will be handed out on Sept. 17.

A solar carport is coming to Sheridan College's Davis campus.
The pilot project, slated to start construction in August, is described in a Sheridan release as "Canada's largest solar carport."
There has been tremendous excitement and celebration recently over the fact that Come From Away, the Broadway musical originally developed and produced by Sheridan College, has received seven Tony Award nominations.
The Tony Awards recognize excellence in live theatrical productions that are staged on Broadway in New York City.
Sheridan is pleased to announce that the Accreditation Commission of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) has approved the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program for CIDA accreditation.
