Humber College’s Lakeshore Campus Officially Fair Trade Designated - First Ontario College to receive designation

Humber College’s Lakeshore Campus is the first college in Ontario to receive Fair Trade Campus designation from the Canadian Fair Trade Network (CFTN.) for its promotion of social and environmental sustainability and innovation. Recognized already as one of Canada's Greenest Employers, achieving the designation is part of Humber’s five-year plan to make its campuses more sustainable.  

Team Humber Wins Bronze at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi - First time Canada medals in competition

Recent Humber College graduates, Avery Bird and Theo Willert, are bringing home a bronze medal after competing for four days in the mechatronics competition at WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi.  Team Humber also won The Best of Nation award which is given to the competitors who have the highest standing amongst their country’s or region’s teams.

Dr. Chris Whitaker elected new Chair of Polytechnics Canada

Polytechnics Canada, the voice of Canada’s leading post-secondary institutions dedicated to practical technological education, industry innovation and high-quality talent creation, announces its new Chair.  Dr. Chris Whitaker, President and CEO of Humber College, has been elected as the new Chair of the association.  Polytechnics Canada recently released proposals for the next federal budget targeting increased productivity and competitiveness through better support for polytechnic innovation and skills.

Humber rides with Harley-Davidson Canada: College re-launches motorcycle training program as Humber/Harley-Davidson Training Centre

Humber College has partnered with motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson Canada to offer the college’s well-known motorcycle training program exclusively on Harley-Davidson motorcycles by January 2020.

Harley-Davidson motorcycles currently make up 50 per cent of Humber’s training fleet.  

Humber College launches 50th anniversary garden

Staff and faculty celebrated Humber College’s 50th anniversary this week with a "groovy" 60s-themed President’s Barbecue.

Attendees of the Tuesday, June 6 event at the college’s North Campus enjoyed live music, a photo booth, a candy bar, and mingling new and old faces who have worked at Humber throughout the years — including former president Robert “Squee” Gordon.
