George Brown College

Toronto’s George Brown College has established a reputation for equipping students with the skills, industry experience and credentials to pursue the careers of their choice. From its two main campuses located in the downtown core, George Brown offers 156 full-time programs and 1600 continuing education courses across a wide variety of professions to a student body of 71,000 (including those enrolled in full-time, part-time and continuing education programs). George Brown College has a range of innovative applied and basic research projects—some of which have been internally seed funded and many of which involved funding partners from other institutions and from industry. These projects contribute to our professors’ engagement in their fields of expertise and to what and how our students learn, all while responding to industrial challenges or directly benefiting the greater community.
Our research spans many disciplines, including nursing, prosthetics and orthotics, early childhood education, microelectronics, mechanical engineering and culinary science and design.

George Brown College is a leader in responding to Toronto's changing demographic profile and immigrant needs. International & Immigrant Education at George Brown College serves to facilitate the seamless integration of immigrants into the social, educational, and economic structures of Ontario and to act as an advocate for immigrant issues within the college and external bodies through their programs and services.

International Activities and International Educational Partnerships

For more than three decades, George Brown College has welcomed students from around the world, worked internationally in over 25 countries, and developed significant global partnerships. We support the international engagement of staff and students through study abroad initiatives as well as education partnerships with schools located around the world, including:

• A joint program with Chitkara University in Chandigarh, India, which provides graduates with dual credentials – an advanced diploma from George Brown and an accredited Bachelor’s degree from Chitkara.
• In China, partnerships include a construction program with Shanghai Urban Management College, a hospitality program in Guilin and an early childhood development laboratory school in Suzhou.
