Humber’s own Top Chef: Masters

Top chefs from around the world are coming to Humber to become Masters.

Notable culinary greats including Jud Simpson, executive chef at the House of Commons in Ottawa, Jeffrey Brothers a Humber grad who is currently chef de cuisine at the Fairmount in Abu Dhabi, and Tobias MacDonald, captain of Culinary Team Canada at the upcoming culinary Olympics, are trying to earn Canada’s highest attainable chef certification.

“A Master Chef designation is the PhD of culinary education and training,” says Rudi Fischbacher, coordinator of culinary programs at Humber. “Becoming a Master Chef is a monumental opportunity for Canadian chefs, who will truly become the crème de la crème of all culinary artists.”

The final exam and preparation takes place on June 29 at Humber’s North Campus.

Humber is the first and only Canadian college to offer theCertified Master Chef program.
