Through partnerships with business and industry, we ensure our curriculum matches opportunities and needs in the workplace an approach that results in high employer satisfaction with SIAST graduates. SIAST activities encourage new businesses, assist existing businesses, and create long-term economic growth.
SIAST is the province’s primary public institution for post-secondary technical education and skills training, and as such, the applied research we engage in is primarily of a technical nature.
SIAST’s research strategy focuses on fostering areas of existing and emerging strengths as well as undertaking a wide range of scholarly activities in support of our educational goals. Theseresearch endeavors focus on activities with an appropriate degree of educational, technological, industrial and commercial relevance where partnerships lead to benefits for the institution; business, industry or academic partners; and students. While all individual and collaborative research is encouraged, SIAST has identified four distinct areas of importance to the province of Saskatchewan.
The areas of focus as related to applied research and innovation at SIAST are:
• urban development
• environment and natural resources
